Rob was a co-author of the book 'Urbanism', and has also contributed to a number of publications and journals.

‘Urbanism’, written together with David Rudlin and Sarah Jarvis and published by Routledge, is the third in the Academy series ‘Learning from Place’.

The book is a compendium of best practice of the 75 schemes that were nominated for the Urbanism Awards between 2007-2013, looking to tell the story of each place and its journey using figure ground plans, drawings, poetry and photographs.

Rob also contributed to the Cabe publication Design Review Principles and Practice, documenting the role of Sheffield’s Design Review Panel, and its role and processes improving design quality within the city, and Urban Design Compendium 2, highlighting the role taken in embedding design quality into policy within Sheffield.
